OceanObs’19 is a community-driven conference that brings people from all over the planet together to communicate the decadal progress of ocean observing networks and to chart innovative solutions to society’s growing needs for ocean information in the coming decade. It is in recognition of the central role the ocean plays in supporting all life on Earth. We see a resilient world whose societies prosper through sustainable interactions with our ocean, guided by timely, reliable, and accessible information. Every ten years since 1999 there is an international conference focusing on ocean observations.
2009 brought together more than 600 scientists to build a common vision for the provision of routine and sustained global information on the marine environment sufficient to meet society’s needs for describing, understanding and forecasting marine variability, weather, seasonal to decadal climate variability, climate change, sustainable management of living marine resources, and assessment of longer term trends. This year OceanObs'19 more than 1,200 attendees are expected. It will be held in Honolulu, Hawai'i September 16-20, 2019. Find out more about this important event and register to attend here.
