The nearest airport is Asheville Regional airport (AVL), which is a 20-minute drive to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). Located adjacent to I-26, Asheville Regional Airport offers competitive airfares, easy check-in/baggage pick-up, ground transportation and plenty of amenities including wireless Internet access. The airport is currently served by Continental, Delta, United, and USAirways. Taxi fees are about $40 each way, and rental cars are available at the airport.
