How Salaries are Determined

UCAR Policy Statement on Human Resources

It is UCAR's goal to engage highly qualified staff to carry out the objectives of UCAR and its entities and to provide a work environment that is conducive to the personal and professional development of its employees. UCAR is committed to maintaining a diversified work force by providing equal employment opportunity for all its employees and qualified applicants for employment. Its practices regarding recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, standards of compensation, opportunities for advancement, and staff reduction or termination are administered without bias against persons on the basis of their gender, race, age, national origin, color, religion, sexual orientation, handicap, and marital or veteran status.

Compensation in the form of salaries and benefits is intended to be competitive with those of appropriate comparison groups and/or similar institutions.

Continuation of employment of any individual is subject to all of UCAR's policies, satisfactory performance, and the availability of funding.
