ISTPNext and the Heliophysics Great Observatories

ISTPNext constitutes a grass-roots version of the original ISTP program, unifying the Sun-Heliosphere and Geospace communities under a common scientific framework. Such an international program would help to coalesce our discipline and help coordinate current and future observations, programs, and initiatives to holistically study our interconnected system-of-systems to answer fundamental science questions within our discipline. ISTPNext is centered on the concept of 'Great Observatories' that combine space- and ground-based observations with simulations and theory and advanced analysis techniques into a holistic study of our systems-of-systems. In this talk I review the output from the recent ISTPNext workshop held May 8-10.
