Hosted by NASA’s Living With a Star program and UCAR’s Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science (CPAESS), the annual summer school brings together Ph.D. graduate students and early-career postdoctoral researchers to explore the science of heliophysics, build connections across disciplines, and develop tools and perspectives they can carry into their research careers.

For 20 years, the NASA Heliophysics Summer School has brought together the next generation of heliophysicists with some of the field's leading scientists to explore the interconnected physics of the Sun, solar system, and space environment.This July, that legacy was celebrated in Boulder, Colorado.

Researchers found that adding stochastic perturbations to the Navy ESPC by means of a Stochastic Kinetic Energy Backscatter (SKEB) scheme improved the system’s representation of forecast uncertainty and reduced forecast error.
