This meeting will bring together leaders of Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) in the broader geosciences from more than 50 universities and organizations across the nation to share best practices, build community connections, and address national incentives.  

 

REGISTRATION

Even if you've told us you're coming, please register so that we can ensure that you will have a badge, conference materials, and be included in the directory.

**If your travel is being covered by funds other than by the workshop, you will need to pay a $190 registration fee. You can find instructions for paying that fee here.**

 AGENDA

The workshop starts at 5:30 pm on Wed. Sept. 21st at NCAR in Boulder.  The program runs through lunch on Friday, with a field trip on Friday afternoon and staying over in Boulder on Friday night. The field trip is to the spectacular Red Rocks Amphitheater and Dinosaur Ridge, near Morrison, Colorado. The field trip has no fee and is covered by the workshop. If your travel is being by the workshop award, then the cost of the hotel for Friday night is covered.  Others are welcome to go on the field trip at no cost. Participants may also depart after lunch on Friday.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION FROM DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Green Ride

Green Ride offers one-way and roundtrip service between the airport and the "Hampton Inn Gunbarrel." Rates are about $35 each way. Information on how to make your reservation and where to find the shuttle pick up location at DIA can be found here

Arrival Info:

  • The workshop will provide transportation from the hotel to NCAR's Mesa Lab at 5pm on the 21st. *NOTE: If your flight does not arrive in time to be on the 3:35pm Green Ride shuttle, please take Green Ride directly to NCAR's Mesa Lab (1850 Table Mesa Dr, Boulder, CO 80305).
  • Please note that when making your reservation online, you will need to indicate your zone only if you are requesting a Mesa Lab dropoff. That zone is "South of Valmont."
  • The bus will wait until the 3:35pm shuttle from the airport arrives at the hotel before departing for NCAR's Mesa Lab.

Departure Info:

  • If you are attending the Red Rocks & Dinosaur Ridge Field Trip on 9/23 and therefore departing on 9/24, you can schedule your Green Ride pick up at the hotel on the morning of 9/24.
  • If you are not able to attend the Friday field trip and therefore departing Boulder on Friday afternoon (9/23), you will check out of the hotel before leaving for the workshop (please bring your luggage with you to the workshop site). You can schedule your Green Ride pick up for 1pm at 3080 Center Green Drive, Boulder, CO 80301.
  • Please note that when making your reservation online, you will need to indicate your zone only if you are requesting a pickup at UCAR (3080 Center Green Dr.). That zone is "North of Valmont."
