OBJECTIVES
This  workshop will reconvene key stakeholders in the ACF DEWS regions in an effort to continue to foster an information-sharing network around drought planning and preparedness in the region.  Main objectives of the workshop are to further refine needs and priorities for major drought-related activities in the ACF and to inform and develop activities for the ACF DEWS Strategic Plan while continuing to build networks in the region.

 

REGISTRATION
There is no registration fee to attend the workshop.

Registration is closed.

 

WORKSHOP VENUE
Sign-in and a working lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 12.  The workshop will formally start at 1:00 p.m., at Auburn University:

The workshop will conclude around noon on Thursday afternoon, October 13, 2016.  Parking is free at the Hubbard CASIC Building.

A block of 25 Superior King guest rooms is currently being held for our group at the federal government rate of $91 plus 13% tax ($102.83) for the night of October 12, 2016.  A block of 3 rooms is being held for the night of Ocrtober 11, 2016, at the same rate.  To make your hotel reservation, please email your arrival and departure dates to Brian Jackson at bjackson_at_ucar.edu.  He will send you your hotel reservation confirmation number closer to the meeting dates.

The cut-off date for making your reservation is Wednesday, 5 October 2016.  Reservation requests made after the cut-off date will be on a space- and rate-available basis only.

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m.

LUNCH
A working lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, 12 October 2016.

NOTE:  Federal attendees and those on federal travel orders - Please note that NOAA regulations prohibit UCAR from providing meals to federal employees, except NSF employees. Therefore, it is requested that federal employees contribute $12.00 per day for lunches;  this amount is the lunch portion of the FY2017 GSA CONUS M&IE for Auburn.

Also, please note that some US government credit cards and travel credit cards have restrictions placed on them by your agency regarding which merchant ID number categories they may be used for.  Such restrictions may prohibit you from paying online, due to UCAR's merchant ID number category, which is "educational establishment."

It is now possible to pay UCAR via the Internet!  Please note that UCAR accepts only Visa and MasterCard:

1. Proceed to https://www.fin.ucar.edu/Epayments

2. Under "Select an item or event to pay," choose "NIDIS ACF Workshop, Oct 12-13, 2016 - Meal Fee," and then click on the "Process Payment" button.

3. On the following screen, enter the amount (12) and fill in your billing information. When you are ready, click on the "Next" button and follow the prompts.

4. You will receive an e-mail confirming your payment and the amount paid.

It is also possible to pay by check on the day of the event.  Please make your check payable to "UCAR," and bring it with you to the workshop.  If you prefer to pay by check in advance, please mail your check to Brian Jackson UCAR-JOSS, P.O. Box 3000, Boulder, CO 80307.
