7:14 am – 7:14 pm MDT

College Park, MD
Main content

The ACX science team meeting (STM) will bring together key science leaders, policy makers, agency partners, users and stakeholders to facilitate the coordination and long-term planning of ACX that observes atmospheric composition as part of the GeoXO satellite system.

The 3-day meeting will have multiple sessions including an opening session on policy relevance to NOAA satellite missions. Over the course of the meeting, we will have sessions ranging from invited science presentations, briefings on other GeoXO instruments such as GXI (Imager) and GXS (hyper-spectral sounder) that also provide atmospheric composition data, hands-on training on using ACX precursor instrument TEMPO data. Sessions will be organized into oral presentations, poster presentations, and panel discussion.

Meeting Objectives

  • Provide updates on NOAA's Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) mission, especially regarding the mission's atmospheric composition instrument (ACX)
  • Discuss current and future plans of the coordinated research efforts by the ACX science team
  • Increase coordination between ACX science team and stakeholders
  • Provide hands-on training to stakeholders using TEMPO data as a proxy for ACX

The STM will be held at NOAA's Center for Weather and Climate Prediction in College Park, MD. Registrants are encouraged to attend in person, but there will also be a virtual component. The virtual component will allow participants to listen to all discussions including the breakout sessions, and ask questions through a chat application. Poster session will be in person only.
