On April 8th 2024, the sun, moon and earth will align perfectly together to produce a total solar eclipse! This eclipse will create a path of darkness stretching from the Pacific coast of Mexico all the way to the Atlantic coast of Canada. This will be the last total solar eclipse visible from the contiguous United States until 2044. This 2024 eclipse is currently expected to last 4 minutes and 27 seconds, which is twice as long as the previous total solar eclipse that occurred in 2017.
