I will discuss progress at including a diverse range of solar mechanisms in the GISS Earth System Model, including TSI, SSI, SEPs and progress towards including ionization effects on aerosols. Matches to solar impacts derived from SSU data are good, though ozone changes are slightly too small. I will discuss the continued problem of volcanic aliasing of the solar signal. I will also discuss the potential for solar effects to be impacting the very warm surface temperature data in 2023 and the continued ‘discussion’ of the attribution of solar effects on long term climate change.
