Description of scientific projects
My current studies deal with El Nino-Southern Oscillation, atmospheric intraseasonal oscillation, variability of the Asian-Australian monsoon system and associated western Pacific and Indian Oceans, tropical climate, tropical cyclones, and interdecadal climate variability. Research approaches involve theoretical, numerical modeling, and observational analyses. Research efforts focus on understanding of the fundamental physics governing variations of weather and climate. Current as of 10/10/2002
