Description of scientific projects
1. Characterizing the impacts of the cold tongue bias in models on projections of Pacific SST trends. Involves implementing a flux adjustment protocol in CESM.

2. Understanding discrepancies in projected hydrological sensitivity in climate models.

3. Characterizing the uncertainty in the projection of tropical cyclone (TC) frequency in CMIP6. Involves downscaling TCs in the Columbia Hazard Model (CHAZ).

4. Assessing the current and future impacts of tropical cyclone hazards (precipitation, storm surge, and winds) on petrochemical facilities in the US Gulf Coast. Involves coupling CHAZ to a storm surge model GeoClaw and TC precipitation algorithm.

5. A proxy model comparison for streamflow in the United States and Southeast Asia. Involves deriving streamflow estimates from downscaled and bias-corrected
paleoclimate model simulations.
