Description of scientific projects
Uses molecular approaches to address demographic and habitat utilization questions critical for effective conservation management of endangered wildlife populations. Conducts collaborative research using hormones extracted from blood samples and blubber biopsies to determine pregnancy rates, maturity states, and stress response in free-ranging marine mammals, as well as combining endocrinology with population genetics to understand climate change impacts on sea turtle population demographics.
