Description of scientific projects
Since 2003, the Climate Hazards Center has developed data sets, early warning science strategies, and process-based diagnostic studies that support the monitoring and prediction of droughts in the global south. My current work focuses on new temperature monitoring systems for the Global South, and how the interaction of climate change and ENSO provides opportunities for long lead forecasts. The Center engages extensively with the USAID Famine Early Warning Systems Network and Global South scientists.
