Fields of interest
My research focuses on surface and groundwater hydrology, hydrologic monitoring, modeling, data science, and web applications. I have led hydrological research programs in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa, addressing issues such as groundwater sustainability, flood prediction, water quality, and climate adaptation.
Description of scientific projects
My scientific projects focus on hydrology, groundwater sustainability, flood prediction, water quality, and climate adaptation, with an emphasis on Hawaiʻi and American Samoa. I develop monitoring systems, probabilistic models, and geospatial tools to improve water resource management, drought resilience, and wastewater planning. My work integrates machine learning, hydroinformatics, and remote sensing to support decision-making and environmental protection. Key efforts include groundwater salinity monitoring, flood prediction systems, cesspool replacement planning, and building data portals to enhance data accessibility. I also prioritize stakeholder engagement, training resource managers, and translating research into actionable strategies for long-term sustainability.
