Description of scientific projects
Broadly, I am interested in the interface between terrestrial and aquatic systems, the movement of material and carbon in both dissolved and gaseous forms between those systems, and the linkages of the carbon cycling across terrestrial and aquatic systems. I use a combination of field methods, analytical chemistry (isotopes and biochemical tracers), and spatial data analysis to explore and identify the processes controlling the concentrations of carbon seen in natural and human dominated systems.
