David W J Thompson

My research and that of my students is focused on improving our understanding of global climate variability through analyses of observations and experiments with numerical models. My interests include large-scale atmospheric dynamics, the interpretation of observed climate change, stratosphere/troposphere coupling, ocean/atmosphere interaction, decadal climate variability, and the climate impacts of large-scale atmospheric phenomena.
