Dr Greg M McFarquhar

An opportunity exists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in Greg McFarquhar’s research group, for a postdoctoral fellow to participate in research aimed at improving the representations of clouds and radiative processes in climate and cloud-resolving models. Fellows would have access to state of the art computing facilities and to large amounts of cloud data that have been acquired in recent field programs to assist in their performance of this research. Any applicant with some background in cloud or climate modeling, together with an interest in the representation of clouds in models is encouraged to apply. Some familiarity with UNIX and data analysis packages, such as IDL, would also be beneficial. Experience with analysis of field data, although beneficial, is not required.
