Our principal research focuses on the growth rate of atmospheric carbon dioxide, past, present and future. We seek to identify the sources and sinks of the contemporary carbon cycle, and to quantify how these sources and sinks may be sensitive to changes in climate and circulation. A parallel approach is applied to study the cycling of other trace constituents in the atmosphere.
