atmospheric heterogeneous and multiphase chemistry; tropospheric photochemistry; aerosol-cloud interactions
Description of scientific projects
Novel field deployable mass spectrometers are used to measure gas and aerosol bound species to quantify the effects of the biosphere on atmospheric photochemistry and aerosol formation and growth. Laboratory experiments are carried out to study surface and multiphase chemistry relevant to organic aerosol particles, secondary organic aerosol formation, aerosol hygroscopicity changes, and aerosol-cloud interactions.
