Hyperspectral remote sensing of forest condition and, from this, modeling of carbon assimilation capacity and carbon balance (gross and net ecosystem exchange). Current and proposed work links simple physiological ecosystem models with high spatial- and spectral-remote sensing techniques for high resolution estimates of carbon flux for use in conjunction with eddy covariance data.
