Description of scientific projects
Stephen Burns research is aimed at developing and interpreting high-resolution climate records from the continents for the Late Pleistocene and Holocene. Most of his research has utilized stable isotopes of lacustrine sediments and speleothems to generate records of climate change. Current research projects include determining the history of Indian Ocean Monsoon variation in southern Arabia using speleothems and investigating the climate record of tropical South America using both lacustrine sediments and speleothems.
