Description of scientific projects
Our work focuses on analysis of satellite constituent observations to characterize the seasonal and interannual variability in stratospheric circulation and transport. This includes studies of stratospheric meteorological analyses to diagnose circulation variability. Recent studies include analysis of decadal-scale trends in constituents measured by the SAGE and UARS satellite instruments, characterization of the global QBO circulation in the stratosphere based on satellite data, and analyses of the tropical tropopause based on radiosonde and GPS data.
