Recently, I have been working on various projects to understand the fundamentals of convectively coupled tropical disturbances, how they might change in a warmer climate, and the implications for midlatitude prediction through teleconnections. We use a variety of tools, including reanalysis, in situ and satellite observations, and models of various complexity.
