Remote sensing of atmospheric composition, biosphere-atmosphere interactions, chemical transport modeling, air quality and health.
Description of scientific projects
Our research combines satellite-based remote sensing observations with computer modeling and targeted field observations to better understand the physical and chemical processes in the atmosphere that impact human vulnerability to air pollution. We also consider how the biosphere impacts atmospheric reactivity, exploring links between air quality, the natural environment, and human health. Some current projects include (but are not limited to): urban-scale variability in remote sensing of surface air quality; interannual changes in biosphere-atmosphere trace gas exchange; and impacts of land cover on atmospheric chemistry.
