Lora Koenig

My primary research focuses on contemporary changes in the Greenland ice sheet ranging from satellite and airborne retrievals of snow fall and surface temperature to field studies of meltwater retention within the ice sheet. Though I am primarily an observationalist, I work with broad collaborate teams that use my observations to improve ice sheet, regional climate and global climate models and to better understand the broader changes occurring in the Arctic System. I have secondary research projects on monitoring and measuring seasonal snow and investigating surface mass balance changes across the Antarctic ice sheet.
