Paleoceanography, Paleoclimatology, Sedimentology/Stratigraphy, Geochronology. I utilize geochemistry, micropaleontology and physical properties of marine sediment records to reconstruct past environments with a particular interest in ice-ocean interactions and periods of past warming.
Description of scientific projects
I currently have active projects in both the Pacific and Atlantic, working to understand the triggers for and mechanisms of marine-terminating glacial retreat by utilizing sediment archives deposited at the end of the last ice age. I also have ongoing research into paleo discharge and paleo hypoxia reconstructions for the Pacific Northwest margin.
