Phytoplankton Ecology Marine Biogeochemistry Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorus cycling
Description of scientific projects
I study the coupling of Carbon, Nitrogen and phosphorus cycles in marine environments through the lens of phytoplankton. My group focuses on how diversity of phytoplankton assemblages, as well physiological diversity of different phytoplankton lineages impacts the coupling of these major macronutrient cycles. This includes conducting climate change experiments (e.g., ocean acidification experiments) to observe how phytoplankton assemblages and physiology changes in response to hypothetical climate change scenarios.
