Description of scientific projects
Funded:
- Prediction of emergence of El Nino mode in the Indian Ocean under greenhouse warming (NSF),
- Global tropical response during Heinrich events (NSF),
- Sensitivity of ENSO to past and future changes in climate (NSF).
Other unfunded projects:
- Role of the tropical oceans setting key features of the Earth's climate, such as the position of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone, the sea-surface salinity contrast between the Atlantic and the Indian Summer Monsoon. Using simplified climate models as part of Simpler Model initiative (www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/simpler-models).
