- Transition from VORTEX-SE to VORTEX-USA

Session 2: The State of the VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA Science Plan
- Overview of VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA science since Fall 2020 assessment
- Expanding the science plan to include relevant work outside of the VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA program
Session 3: Discussion - Complacency in Severe Weather Warnings
- Where does the science on the role of complacency in warning response currently stand?
- How has the VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA program addressed warning complacency?
- How can we ensure that findings related to complacency in warning response make it to relevant end user groups (e.g., NWS, broadcast meteorologists, emergency management, etc.)?
Session 4: Discussion - The Future of Field Work in VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA
- PERiLS runs through May 2023, and it will take a long time to process and study the PERiLS dataset
- What should the next foci be for field research in VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA?
Session 5: Discussion - Building an R2O2R Framework within the VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA Program
- As with complacency, many other topics have been addressed within VORTEX-SE/VORTEX-USA that have produced tangible results with potential operational benefit
- How can we ensure that these results are making it to end users (NWS, broadcasters, EMs, etc.) and doing so in a useful fashion?
- How can we ensure that upcoming projects address tangible needs (i.e., what information end users need and when they need it, and where there are gaps in the science for providing that information)?
