PMEL 50th Anniversary Symposium

We are celebrating a major milestone for PMEL: 50 years of Science in Service to Society

Symposium Description

The NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory will celebrate 50 years of research in 2024. For the past five decades, PMEL has enhanced NOAA’s mission of science, service and stewardship through observations and research of Earth’s oceans and atmosphere. Throughout this time, PMEL has been at the forefront of paradigm-changing discoveries and technological innovation. To mark this milestone, PMEL will host a one day symposium that acknowledges our past achievements, celebrates the present and looks to the future. The event will feature presentations and posters highlighting our science, discoveries, and innovation. The presentation will also focus on current urgent and emerging issues that will shape the path for PMEL’s next 50 years. The agenda will also include a panel discussion regarding the impact of some of PMEL’s major accomplishments.
