Salary & Benefits

The program offers two-year Fellowships, reviewed annually. Fellows receive a fixed hourly rate. UCAR benefits include health and dental insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, mandatory participation in a retirement fund (TIAA), and life insurance. An allowance is provided for scientific travel and other support costs.

Salary

  • Fellows will be part-time UCAR employees, receiving an hourly salary range of $27.58/hour for (0.5 FTE at 20 hours/week for 9 months; and 1.0 FTE at 40 hours/week for 3 months) and a comparable benefits package.
  • Total possible workable hours are 1,320 hours per year.

  • Benefits include health and life insurance, and participation in UCAR’s retirement plan (TIAA/CREF).

Expenses

  • Fellows receive a $5,000 annual allowance for scientific travel and publications. 

    NOTE: A mandatory trip to attend the annual UIFCW workshop is included in this allowance. 

 

Parental Leave Guidelines

The purpose of Parental Leave is to enable an employee to care for and bond with a newborn or a newly adopted or newly placed child.

UCAR will provide up to 12 weeks of Parental Leave in a rolling 12-month period. Parental Leave provides eligible employees with job protected leave and income replacement in coordination with other UCAR leaves of absence.
