Description
This presentation will highlight the diverse disciplines of social science to familiarize the audience with the applicability of these fields in an earth science setting. The presentation will also discuss how social science tools can help researchers better understand communities and engage with those impacted by their work.
Creative social science tools such as Social Network Analysis, survey development, focus groups, impact assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and more can be relevant for Earth scientists and researchers for building communities, teams, and supporting impactful research projects. Audience members will leave this presentation with a better understanding of how social science relates to their work and what they can do to incorporate more social science strategies into their daily lives and workplace.
