The NOAA Summer Institute began 28 years ago for NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral fellows to present their research and connect with NOAA C&GC Alumni and other scientists in the field. This past July 17 - 21, 2022 CPAESS convened the NOAA Summer Institute in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

CPAESS Scientist Neil Jacobs serves as Chief Science Advisor for the Unified Forecast System. It was recently announced that he won a 2023 Kenneth Spengler Award to be presented at AMS!

Baoqiang (Bao) Xiang, CPAESS Project Scientist III supporting NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) was recently awarded funding for his proposed research project in the Climate Testbed category of the WPO’s competition. 

Dr. Robert Fajber, NOAA C&GC alumni and former CPAESS scientist spoke at the NOAA Science Seminar Series on Evaporation links the Hydrologic Cycle and Global Heat Transport. 

Dr. Brittany Hupp, CPAESS Scientist and NOAA Climate and Global Change fellow researches how fossils can give us insight into future climate predictions.
