U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program: Summer Update

U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program recently released the first diversity assessment of the North American Carbon Program (NACP). Director Gyami Shrestha was one of the leads and co-authors on it. Here is the NACP Diversity Statement statement.

We are planning an August 2022 Interagency US Carbon Program/North American Carbon Program (NACP) Community Workshop on Terrestrial, Coastal, Atmospheric and Societal Dimensions of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). It is scheduled to take place on: Monday August 1, 2022; Tuesday August 2, 2022; and Thursday August 4, 2022. (Friday August 12, 2022 - hold for work sessions if needed). Details are yet to be determined, but when available you will be able to find details on the Terrestrial, Coastal, Atmospheric and Societal Dimensions of Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) workshop page.

Lastly, Director of U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program, Gyami Shrestha, wanted to let people know that her predecessor Dr. Rober B. Hanson passed away recently. “He was a UCAR JOSS staff member in my role for almost 6 years before he retired.” He has left a fine legacy in the important work of carbon cycle science.
